Tailored Trips - customer feedback

All our tailored itineraries are all different and we spend a long time working with our customers to make sure that they have the best holiday possible. We very much value the feedback we receive from our customised clients as it helps us to continue providing a top class service.

Here you'll find a selection of the feedback we have received from our tailored trips over the last couple of years and a brief summary of the arrangements we made.

'All in all, we had a wonderful time. .. The info pack and our e-mail exchanges were invaluable. I have done a lot of travelling and have never seen any document so individually tailored or as comprehensive. Thanks again for all of your effort in putting that together. it made what could have been a very stressful experience a very enjoyable one.'

Karen, June 2003

Karen took an 8 night trip with her niece, visiting Kyoto, Nara and Tokyo. We arranged accommodation, transport and some guided tours. The total price was £1695 / $2800 USD with 4 and 5 star accommodation with a ryokan stay in Kyoto.

'As predicted we had a fantastic time. I should like to thank you for putting the trip together at such short notice and patiently handling our many queries despite our attempt not to pay you! everything went like clockwork with every connection made and on time. Thanks again - we will certainly be recommending Japan to others and in particular your services.'

Martin and Heather, June 2003

Martin and Heather took a more unusual trip starting in Tokyo and visiting Nikko, Mashiko, Sendai, Naruko Onsen, Mt. Haguro, Sado Island, Kanazawa and Kyoto. We arranged a pottery class for them in Mashiko (a town famous for its ceramics) as well as all their accommodation and transport. They stayed in a mix of traditional and Western style places, all around 3 star standard and with several evening meals included. The final price was £3150 for 19 nights in Japan.

'Well here we are back at home! You and your company are to be congratulated on the magnificent way in which the visit was organised. All connections were made without any problems and, of course, the Shinkansen trains are something else. The guide who we had on the first full day, Miss Ishii, was brilliant and became a firm friend. She even came to see us off on the last morning. Your good work regarding Sue's diet was also excellent. Once again our sincere thanks for all your efforts.'

Sue and Brian, May 2003

Brian and Sue’s trip was a present from their son-in-law. Their special interest was Sumo and we arranged for tickets to the tournament on 3 separate days. They were even invited to the after-basho party held at the hotel they were staying in!! Sue had many food allergies but with careful preparation we were able to make sure she had no problems at all getting delicious meals. They visited Tokyo, Hakone and Kyoto staying in 5 star hotels all the way. The final pricing was £3400 for a 12 night stay incl. all transport, sumo tickets and a day’s private guiding in Tokyo.

'First of all we would like to congratulate you on organising a first class trip for us and the Saunders. We had such a wonderful time and everything went more or less to plan. Tokyo is such an experience - so many people and so ordered. We used the subway and got to see many of the sights - we loved the Shinjuku Gyoen Park. Nikko was great - our first experience of a ryokan and of the bathing ritual. We loved the food - not sure what some of it was but we ate it all, although it was more difficult to accomplish this at eight o'clock in the morning.

Kyoto was brilliant and we shrined out somewhat. The weather was hot and we walked and walked and walked. We loved the station (could have ridden the escalators for hours) and the museum of modern art. Shirohama was good too, although it rained, and we sampled the open air onsen and a restaurant with no English menu, no spoken English and no pictures and no plastic replicas. Got what we wanted though! And then there was Hakone. The weather was glorious and we saw Fuji all day for three days. The public transport was faultless and the shinkansen.... well. All in all a brilliant experience, so thank you very much.'

John and Anne, Gordon and Susan - April 2002

This group of 4 took a 15 night trip visiting Tokyo, Nikko, Kyoto, Shirahama Onsen and Hakone. They were on quite a tight budget so we used a mixture of business hotels and less expensive traditional inns but included dinner at their ryokan in Nikko as a Japanese experience not to be missed. The total cost of this trip was £1050 per person.
